My first prank phone call and a run with my mommy

Tonight when I got home from my staff meeting, I arrived to everyone laughing. Here's a bit of background on the story.....

Sophia has loved the telephone for a very long time. She loves to walk around with the phone and have conversations with her friends.

At Papa and Nana's house she gets to play with their telephones too. She also loves theirs as the buttons on the phones light up. She is very good at paging back and forth between phones and dialing random numbers.

Well, tonight the number wasn't so random. She ended up calling someone and they called back. They asked my mom if someone had called them. My mom said no not thinking anything about Sophia. So we all had a great laugh about it!

After our wonderful family dinner tonight, (The new recipe was a huge hit!) we went on a run together up at the high school. They have an indoor walking track that you can go and run/walk on. Sophia had quite the big day and didn't get an afternoon nap, so she took one while we were running tonight.
Tomorrow night I have to work at the Y. I hear it is supposed to be nice outside tomorrow. Maybe Sophia will get to go to the park. Happy half way there day!

Trick Or Treat with no pants

Sophia wanted to run around tonight after she got home from the park with no pants on. It was quite the funny sight upon arriving home this evening. Hal and I were at the new house meeting with the drape lady. When I got home, I found her giggling in just her onesie no pants.

Tonight we practiced Trick-Or-Treat with her beautiful new candy bag. Grandma Jayne made Sophia the coolest blankie and treat bag. Sophia just loves both of them!

Tonight we got to eat our second meal from Angelina's Kitchen and it was amazing!! I also had a little bit of the banana pudding. If you want to taste heaven, this is it. I would've never thought that I would like this, but I can't get enough of it.

Tomorrow we are having a family dinner together. We have been quite busy with the new house so we are all sitting down together to try one of Nana's new recipes. I think Papa might be a bit leery. Hal and I are eager to give it a try. I'm sure Sophia will like it too. After that Nana, Sophia, and I plan on going on a walk. We need the fresh air.

Apple Orchard and Hal's Birthday

Yesterday was a very busy day for us! Sophia slept in which was wonderful. Then we all got ready and headed to the Pine Tree Apple Orchard. She had a wonderful time touching the pumpkins.

She loved the big huge pumpkins. She wanted to run all over the place while exploring in the patch.

After exploring in the pumpkin patch, we headed into the apple orchard. Sophia had a great time picking up the apples and putting them back in the bin.

We finished up in the orchard and went back by the store. We got some apple bread, apple donuts, and caramel apples. We thought it was a bit funny, as we always go to the orchard, but we never just buy the apples. Oh well.

We left the orchard and headed over to Hal's parents house as his mom is home from Utah. Sophia had some quality time with her Grandma Jayne and Grandpa Hal. Then we went home and we all ate lunch. Sophia went down for a nap and I went for a huge run. Hal went to the house to get some work done. Around 5 we all got ready and Sophia had a quick dinner. Then it was off to Hal's 30th Birthday Party!

Hal had a special "30" cupcake birthday cake. All of our family and friends came and we had a great time.

The party went into the wee hours of the night. We headed home and instantly went to bed. What a long day!

Today we got up and read the paper. Sophia found her favorite adds to read too.

We all had breakfast together and then Hal and I got ready to go and paint. We got quite a bit of painting done at the new house. While we were gone, Sophia got to visit with her Great Grandma Erma and her sister Lillian. She also colored some pictures with Papa. She enjoyed her day of playing with Nana and Papa. They also took her to get a new big girl car seat for their car. What a big day! She went potty twice today too which is always good news to hear.

Tonight, Sophia had dinner and then we went upstairs to play with the new tub toys in the big bath tub. She really enjoyed the watering cups and her new toy that makes music when you fill the cups up with water.

Hal and I stopped and got food from Angelina's Kitchen and can't wait to eat. Until tomorrow....

Freaky Friday

It all started last night. Sophia wasn't sleeping well and woke up at 11pm. After that, I did not get to go back to sleep. We tried rocking, sleeping in the bed together, and we even played a bit at 2am. Hal got up about 5 and took her for a bit so I could try and get 30 minutes of rest, but no such luck. Then in getting ready I stubbed my toes on the door. The day was not off to a good start!

We got ready and I dropped Sophia off at Corey's. The day went by quick at school, but the kids were pretty crazy! Then at the end of the day I was up in the front office dropping some things off in a mailbox when I was asked to sit with a student who was waiting for his mom. I of course said sure. I asked the pre-schooler why he was waiting for his mom. He told me he wasn't sure and was giggling. Then I asked him again and he told me it was because he had a rock stuck up his nose. I laughed out loud and asked him how a flying rock got up his nose! He told me that he had put two up there, but he did get one out. He was quite proud of getting it out. I asked him if he thought his mommy would be happy when she got to school and he replied, "Pretty sure she won't be." I thought that this was quite funny for the rest of the day, not to mention it was his last day today as he is moving.

Then ten minutes before the day got done, I got a call from Corey telling me Sophia only slept for 45 minutes and she had been crying for the past 40 minutes. We knew this wasn't like her at all. So, I gave Hal a call and he went to pick her up. Then I got the call, that he didn't have the car seat......I was off in a flash. I got to Corey's and Sophia was happy to see me. She looked at me and said "mama" and then smiled. We decided to head over to the new house and get a couple of little jobs done.

Sophia was happy when we got over to the new house. We had a snack in the kitchen and then she ran around the house. One of her new favorite things to do is roll around logging rolling and turning circles. She thinks it is great fun when Hal does this with her upstairs.

After playing a bit, we decided to go pick up paint and check out this place called Angelina's Kitchen in Woodbury. I had heard rave reviews about the banana bread and the Italian food she makes. It is all fresh and made with nutritional ingredients... no oils, salt, sugar, frying. The owner gave me a free sample of banana pudding as they ran out of bread early that morning. It is so popular you apparently you have to call and put in your order for it. Needless to say, this wasn't a total loss. The pudding was AMAZING!!! We decided on a couple of dishes to try and will put in our order to pick-up on Sunday for dinner since we will be over at the new house.

When we got home, Sophia ate some dinner and we played toys. She was having a great time pushing her car around the house with Papa.

Then it was off to bed for our sicky little girl. We hope this cold or allergies goes away soon! We are excited to go to the Apple Orchard tomorrow and for Hal's party tomorrow night. I am also looking forward to Sunday to get some painting done. We are hoping to move in next weekend. Hopefully tomorrow my luck with be better!

Cake Walk

Fall Festival

Tonight was our Fall Festival at school. Sophia started off the day by going on the potty again! Then it was off to Corey's. She got picked up early by Papa and Nana. They brought her down to my school. Then she was off and ready to go!

Our first stop was the cute fall scene outside they had set up. It was super sunny and Sophia was much more interested in the pumpkins and the mums off to the side instead of looking at the camera.

Then we went to the cake walk. She did a great job playing the game. Unfortunately, she didn't win though.

After playing the cake walk a bit, we ran into Jenna and her mommy Kari. Kari teaches First Grade. Sophia was eager to say hi to Jenna and touch her cute little pumpkin shoes.

Then Jenna had to leave us and go to an appointment, so we decided to go eat dinner. Well.....we got there a little late and didn't get very much to eat as it was all gone. Sophia did get a chicken soft taco with nothing in it and some plain taco chips. She really enjoyed both of them. What she liked even more was sitting in the chair all by herself and using a big plastic fork.

After we had dinner, we played a bit more and then headed to my classroom to pack up. Sophia had such a big day today! She decided that she needed to take off just one of her shoes and explore my classroom. She found some fun items on the art cart.
Tomorrow is Friday and I am quite excited! Not sure what will be going on tomorrow night as we will be working to get things ready to paint at the new house.

The Potty Adventures

Today was a very busy day. Sophia got up much earlier than normal. So Hal got to cuddle with her this morning while I got ready. After school tonight, I was headed off to the Y. When I got home I heard some great news. Sophia went potty at Corey's house today and went poop tonight at our house.

I'm pretty sure she is getting this whole potty thing down. Here is the potty certificate that Sophia got from Corey today. How cute is this!

Tonight Sophia was in love with playing on the car seat that is going in my parents car. She was having a great time playing with the straps and reading books in it.

Tomorrow Sophia is getting picked up early to come to my Fall Festival at my school. I am very excited to have her there. Hal will be in Hutch tomorrow so he won't be able to make it. I can't wait for Taco Johns for dinner. One of the girls in my class, her mother owns Taco Johns and provides the food. Yum!
