This weekend Sophia hung out with Papa and Nana while Hal and I traveled up to Duluth so that I could run the half-marathon for Grandma's Marathon. We got up Friday and the weather was quite cold. After getting my race packet and sweat bag, we checked into the hotel. Then we went out to dinner with Hal's sister Sarah and her husband Nate at Blackwoods. Dinner was great! When we got done, we headed back to the hotel and watched tv for a bit. Then it was off to bed as tomorrow was going to be a big day!
Saturday we got up at 4:20am. I hadn't been up that early in forever! Hal dropped me off with Sarah and we walked down to the shuttle bus at the DECC. We caught the bus and the nerves kicked in. It was extremely humid that morning and we really didn't realize how hot it was actually going to get. The race started at 6:30. I had a great run despite the heat! It got up to 84. In the paper they said it was hottest race they have had since like 1995. I finished with a 2:09 which was faster than my time from 3 weeks ago by 8 full minutes! After the race we enjoyed Duluth.
We went out for dinner and had some great Mexican food. Then we stopped at the Portland Malt shop which is my favorite place ever! It was just as good as I remember it being.
Today we got up early and headed home. We picked up Sophia and then spent the day hanging out as a family for Father's Day. Sophia got some new golf clubs and Hal tried to teach her how to play golf. It was so cute! Here are a couple of pictures of them golfing:

After several rounds of golf, Sophia went down for her big girl nap. While she is napping, I got things ready for dinner and some laundry started. We're having Hal's father over tonight for dinner which should be fun. Tomorrow it is back to the normal schedule.
Happy Father's Day!
