Whirlwind Weekend

We had such a busy weekend, I will be glad to get back into a somewhat normal routine tomorrow. Saturday was Hal's 30th birthday! We started off the morning by surprising him with a cake and balloons in his favorite colors (maroon and gold for the Gophers).
After having a mini-celebration he was off to help our friend Nic pick up flowers for Shane and Kelly's wedding. Sophia and I were on our own for the rest of the morning. We went to Babies R Us and looked around for a bit. We also went to JoAnn Fabrics where we looked at all of the fun Halloween goodies. I had to laugh out loud while in the store as we walked by the scary masks Sophia started laughing hysterically. Apparently the super scary masks are nothing but funny to her.

When we returned from all of our errands, Sophia tried on her Halloween costume! I am saving any picture posting of this momentous event until Halloween. All I can tell you is, the costume fits her perfectly!

Sophia and I ate a quick lunch and then I got ready for the wedding. Sophia spent the rest of the day/night with Papa and Nana. We are so blessed to have them around! It was a wonderful treat for us to have a date and get a hotel for the night.
The wedding was beautiful and the day was perfect. The ceremony was outside in a gazebo in front of a pond on the golf course. Hal looked absolutely gorgeous in his tux. What a wonderful way to celebrate a special day.
Happy 30th Birthday!
The reception was a blast and Kelly and Shane were the perfect picture of a newly married couple.

What a beautiful bride Kelly was!

After the wedding, we headed back to the hotel. Today, we got up and had a relaxing breakfast at Key's Cafe in Woodbury. It was weird that Sophia wasn't with us. When we got back Sophia was still not feeling her best. We hung out around the house today and Sophia had a jammy day. She still looked adorable even though she was quite tired.

For a special birthday dinner, we had Buffalo Wild Wings and then Hal opened his presents. Sophia did a great job of helping him especially with the tissue paper.
Tomorrow we are back to daycare/school/work and then we head out to celebrate another birthday. We are having dinner with the Gutts to celebrate Christy's birthday. Sophia is looking forward to seeing her friend Ella. Until then...

What a gorgeous couple! Sophia also looks just like Hal in the birthday cake picture. Fun weekend! Can't wait to see you tonight! :)
